Optimized B-Complex
The B-complex vitamins function as coenzymes in our bodies and work synergistically with other nutrients. They are necessary for a plethora of physiological functions in almost all parts of our bodies. B-complex vitamins are necessary for proper immune function, energy production, brain function and metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. They are necessary for healthy nerves, hair, skin, eyes, mouth and liver as well as healthy muscle tone in the gastrointestinal tract. Additionally, B-complex vitamins may be helpful for those with poor memory or chronic fatigue syndrome. They may also be helpful in cases of mild depression and anxiety.
Our need for B-vitamins increases when we are pregnant or nursing, suffering from illness, under stress (physical or emotional) or recovering from surgery. As our bodies age we become less able to absorb nutrients, so B-complex supplementation is especially important for the elderly.
Jarrow Formula's low-odor B-Right B-complex uses optimized forms for better absorption and utilization. For example, the methylcobalamin form of B-12; methyl folate (5-MTHF), the most biologically active form of folic acid; pyridoxal 5-phosphate (P-5-P), the coenzyme form of Vitamin B-6; and the pantethine form of Vitamin B-5.
Always take B-complex vitamins together because they work together as a unit. Increased doses of single B-vitamins may be added for therapeutic effects. They have low toxicity, even in high doses, but if you have a medical condition, please consult your qualified health care professional to learn what’s right for you. See our information on individual B-vitamins to learn more about them.
