Candida alibicans is a detrimental yeast/fungus that is found in the human body — even healthy ones. When our natural flora becomes out of balance (dysbiosis) harmful organisms have the opportunity to proliferate and can make us sick. Since the cell walls of detrimental fungi like Candida albicans are made of fiber, fiber-digesting enzymes can take them apart this causes them to die without the unpleasant Herxheimer reaction (a response to endotoxins released at the death of harmful organisms within the body). Candex™ contains cellulase and hemicellulase to break down cell walls while amalase and glycoamalase break down carbohydrates before they ferment and exacerbate the yeast overgrowth. Invertase breaks down sucrose that feeds detrimental yeast. It does not contain protease and may be taken in conjunction with probiotics. In fact, probiotic use is encouraged.
