Bee propolis is a resinous substance collected from a variety of cone-bearing trees by bees. It has been used medicinally for thousands of years. Propolis is a powerful antimicrobial agent that stimulates phagocytosis (white blood cells destroying bacteria). It can also be useful for inflammation of the mucous membranes of the throat and mouth and may help canker sores and viral, bacterial or fungal infections. It may also be useful for people with H. pylori.

Propolis also has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions.
