Pycnogenol® is a natural plant product made from the bark of the European coastal pine, Pinus maritima. Pycnogenol contains 65% procyanidins, a special class of water-soluble antioxidant flavonoids which are excellent free radical scavengers. Proanthocyanidins are believed to play an important role in maintaining good health.

Pycnogenol's anti-inflammatory, antioxidant activity may benefit cardiovascular issues such as hypertension and thrombosis. Its collagen-stabilizing effects may reduce capillary fragility as well as improve skin health.Pycnogenol may alleviate allergies by stabliizing mast cells and reducing histamine release. Pycnogenol's antioxidant capabilities may be more than fifty times more potent than those of Vitamin E.
