Our bodies require healthy fats in order to function. Fatty acids are also integral parts of our cell membranes, which regulate what passes into and out of our cells.
Ultimate Omega Complex is a combination of fish, flax and borage seed oils (from non-GMO sources) and provides omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids. The immune-supporting and anti-inflammatory action of these fatty acids may be useful for people with arthritis, PMS, psoriasis or eczema, to name just a few. In addition, this combination of essential fatty acids may be helpful for people with dry eyes and dry skin as well.
Flax oil contains high amounts of omega-3 alpha linolenic acid (ALA) plus lignans, which are antioxidant and have phytoestrogenic effects. Borage oil is one of the richest sources of beneficial omega-6 gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), a precursor to anti-inflammatory series 1 prostaglandins.
Fish oil contains two important omega-3 fatty acids: eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Our bodies use EPA to make beneficial prostaglandins that are anti-inflammatory and have cardiovascular benefits including reducing the stickiness of platelets and dilating blood vessels. DHA is part of our cell membranes, especially in the retina of the eye, the brain and nervous system.
