Tony Towne
I grew up in Creswell with a love of the woods, sports and books. I went to Lane Community College and on to Oregon State earning a degree in forest management.
I worked my way through school logging, planting trees and fighting fires. After school I worked on forest service Hot Shot fire crews for several years before suffering a disabling back injury.
The healing journey brought me to Evergreen after my back surgery and I asked for a job and was hired. I’ve enjoyed helping people and working for and with my kind co-workers. It’s been more than 27 good years. While I was disabled I taught myself to carve. I work in fossil ivory, wood, bone, shell and amber. I usually have a piece I’m working on in my pocket.
I also have fun teaching juggling at the University of Oregon for the last over 30 years. My wife Jane and I live and garden in the River Road neighborhood with one spoiled cat, Walker. We have five grand kids.
