The holidays remind us what matters most: connection, compassion, and community. But for many families in Eugene, this season brings more worry than warmth.
With the recent end of SNAP emergency benefits, more households than ever are struggling to put food on the table and meet basic needs. At Evergreen Nutrition, we believe wellness isn’t just about supplements, it’s about showing up for one another. That’s why we’re inviting our community to help us make a real difference this holiday season.
Evergreen Nutrition’s Holiday Food & Essentials Drive
We’re collecting food and essential items throughout the holiday season to directly benefit local families impacted by the loss of SNAP benefits.
💚 You can help by donating:
-
Non-perishable food items (beans, soups, rice, pasta, nut butters, canned veggies, and proteins)
-
Baby food and formula
-
Warm clothing (new or gently used jackets, sweatshirts, socks, and shoes)
-
Blankets and sleeping bags
-
Personal hygiene items (toothpaste, soap, deodorant, shampoo, menstrual care products)
Every donation helps provide comfort, warmth, and nourishment for those in need this winter.
📍 Drop off donations at Evergreen Nutrition in Eugene during regular business hours.
🕒 We’ll be accepting items throughout the holiday season.
Beyond Donations: Other Ways to Support Locally
While food and clothing are critical, many community organizations need other forms of help too, especially this time of year.
🌿 Call Ahead to Ask What’s Needed Most
Reach out to local shelters, food pantries, and schools to see what specific items they’re short on. Sometimes, it’s not food. It’s socks, toiletries, or rain gear.
💚 Volunteer Your Time
Many groups like Eugene Mission, Food for Lane County, and ShelterCare need volunteers to help distribute meals, sort donations, or deliver supplies.
🧣 Organize a Drive with Friends or Co-Workers
Even a small collection among colleagues or neighbors can make a big impact when pooled together.
🏫 Partner with Local Schools
Schools often know which students and families are in need. Consider calling your local district office to see how you can help directly.
Why It Matters
Wellness begins with stability, nutritious food, warm clothing, and dignity in daily living. By donating, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, you’re helping to create that foundation for someone else.
At Evergreen Nutrition, we see this as an extension of our mission: empowering wellness naturally, through both personal care and community care.
Together, We Can Make the Season Brighter
We’re grateful to be part of such a caring community here in Eugene. Whether you drop off a few cans, a cozy blanket, or a new pair of socks: your kindness matters.
