- Tropicos The Missouri Botanical Gardens database: nomenclatural, bibliographic, and specimen data. This system has over 1.2 million scientific names.

- Herbal Constituents A website and online book on phytochemistry.
- Native American Ethnobotany Searchable online database for Native American fiber, food, and medicinal uses of plants. Organized by genus and tribe.
- Google Scholar A searchable and extensive database of academic papers, abstracts, and full research studies. You can find anything here! Try searching for the word “herb” with a health condition (i.e., “herb and diabetes"). Some of the studies use very technical language, but to find out the results of the study, scroll down to “Conclusion” or “Discussion.”
